David B. Newman, 88, died June 7 of cardiopulmonary arrest in East Haven, Conn. He spent his career in missile systems as an engineer and authored “Space Vehicle Electronics - Principles of Guided Missile Design (1964).” David joined the Defense Intelligence Agency in 1974 and serving in the Technical Transfer Directorate (DT-5) when he retired in 1994. He is survived by his three sons, David Jr., Dennis and Gregory and two daughters Pamela Newman and Catherine Newman. A funeral mass was held at St. Hugh of Grenoble Catholic Church in Greenbelt, Maryland on Wednesday, June 25, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, MD.
